Ultimate fans and collectors of Gone with the wind memorabilia consider the autographs and photos of Gone with the Wind characters the most valuable among the collectible items. Some GWTW photos with autographs are very rare that is why the cost is a little high. These valuable items are still the top items that collectors are seeking.

The most collected autographs are those of the two main characters. Vivian Leigh, the actress who played Scarlet O’Hara that won Best Actress in the 1937 Academy Awards, has autographs that range in the price of $400. That is just the signature; a photo with a signature is more valuable. Clark Gable, or Rhett Butler in Gone with the Wind, sells his signature for more or less the same price as Leigh. Yet, their GWTW photos and GWTW autographs are more valuable compared to their other appearances.

Another cast member whose GWTW autograph is considered one of the most expensive is Hattie McDaniel. She played the role of Mammy, Scarlet’s nurse, in the movie. She has played a very important role in the film. Her autograph amounts to around $500 to $600, a bit higher than those of Leigh and Gable.

Other cast members also offer a high price for their signatures but not because of Gone with the Wind. Their appearances in other significant projects are credited for the value that their autographs have obtained. One of them whose autograph amounts to around $700 to $800 is George Reeves who played Stuart Tarleton in Gone with the Wind. He is a minor character in GWTW, but his appearance as Superman in television gave him more value.

There are less inexpensive GWTW photos and GWTW autographs that are available in the market. Those are from other cast members who played such significant roles in the epic movie such as Butterfly McQueen (Prissy, $25 for a signature), Olivia DeHavilland (Melanie, $25), and Eddie Anderson (Uncle Peter, $50).

These autographed pictures, though, vary in value depending on whom you will buy it and how old are the signatures. A framed photo of a Gone with the Wind star and an autograph will surely put value in your collections.
